College of Business and Economics

Dean’s Message

Aloha,

Building your lifelong personal and professional network.

Welcome to our community of students, faculty, and staff in the College of Business and Economics (CoBE) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo. We offer a unique, challenging, and rewarding experience.

We are the most diverse public four-year university in the nation.

Our College of Business and Economics is one of only two business schools in the state accredited by AACSB . This is a distinction shared by fewer than 10 percent of business schools world-wide. Attending an AACSB-accredited institution ensures you are choosing one of the best business schools in the world.

Our classes are taught by qualified faculty with advanced degrees, and our class sizes are small enough that your professors will know your name. We have a close relationship with the business community, which opens up opportunities for great internships and jobs. Living in Hilo provides unique opportunities to learn about the Hawaiian culture, the importance of sustainable businesses practices, and the power of community.

You will have the opportunity to participate in entrepreneurial workshops, career fairs, speed-networking events, and class projects where you apply business principles to real-world issues.

If you are prepared to work harder than you ever thought you could, to achieve more than you thought possible, I invite you to launch your personal and professional journey at the CoBE and to prepare yourself for a rewarding career.
