CoBE Students and Business Leaders

On November 2nd, the Hawaiʻi Island Chamber of Commerce partnered with CoBE to host a speed-networking event featuring some of the most successful business professionals in the Hilo community. During the event, 15 students were given the opportunity to network 1-on-1 with business professionals from HPM Building Supply, Hawaiʻi Tribune-Herald, Edward Jones, Bank of Hawaiʻi, UH Foundation and more. Students got to practice their networking skills while professionals offered pointers on how to improve their elevator pitches, how to present themselves more professionally, and provided opportunities for those looking to get involved in the business community. We received overwhelmingly positive feedback from students who said speed-networking with the Hawaiʻi Island Chamber of Commerce provided them with great practice on how to network in a genuine and effective way.

During the week of November 5th, UH Hilo’s College of Business and Economics celebrated their alumni network by hosting the CoBE Alumni Thank-a-Thon for students to show appreciation for alumni. Faculty, family members, and students all bonded over free pizza, and decorated cards to thank our alumni members for their support and advocacy. The event was the result of a collaborative partnership between the UH Alumni Relations office and the UH Hilo College of Business Alumni Advancement comm campus community committed to supporting student success.
