The UH Hilo College of Business and Economics offers three distinct degree programs: the BBA in General Management, the BBA in Accounting, and the BA in Economics. Admission to the BBA program is selective, but you can declare your intent to major in either program at any time, even as a first-semester freshman.
Students who start their college career at UH Hilo must have a 2.5 GPA on at least 50 college credits for formal admission to the professional business programs. Transfer students with more than 50 credits from other universities may be provisionally admitted for business study, but must earn a 2.5 GPA on their first 12 credits at UH Hilo for formal admission. All applicants for admission to a BBA program are required to demonstrate their competence in basic computer applications software (Microsoft Excel and Access) by passing the CoBE Computer Competency Examination, before they can be admitted.
